How To Pick a Houseplant For the Newbie

  |     |   Apartments, Lifestyle

If you are looking to add some greenery to your apartment’s decor but are not necessarily a plant expert, there is no need to worry. We’ll help you out. The key is to get a low-maintenance plant that not even YOU can kill (we kid). If you don’t know much about plants, they come in a wide variety of options that require different types of care. Here are a few tips for picking the correct one.

Low water: if you are busy and always out of the apartment, go with a plant like a ponytail palm that needs little water to survive. These plants only need to be watered once a week.

Large plants: larger plants look great as a decor piece in an apartment. You can help them cover empty space on a wall or add more greenery into a bathroom. Try going with the spider plant, which is on the bigger side, but still very low maintenance.

Low light: many apartments can have lighting issues. So go with the ZZ plant which thrives in low light situations.
