Mashed potatoes are awesome, but instead of eating the same old recipe every year, want not try something with a little twist, like this mashed potatoes and Rutabaga with Lemon recipe. It may sound weird, but it tastes fantastic. Here is the recipe.

Ingredients 1/3 cup chopped parsley

Bring the rutabaga and potatoes to a boil after starting with cold water. Be sure to generously salt the mix in a large pot. Reduce the flame after it reaches a boil and simmer for 30 minutes.

Mix in the butter and mash until smooth (or leave it a bit chunky, whichever you prefer). Now add the warm half-and-half and 2 teaspoons salt. Melt the remaining butter in a skill with medium heat. Throw in the lemon zest and scallions. Cook fr about 2 minutes while throwing in the salt, parsley and breadcrumbs. Stir until the mix is toasted (roughly 5 minutes).

Put the mashed veggies in a serving platter and adorn with the breadcrumbs. Garnish with the scallion pieces and serve.

http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food-network-kitchens/mashed-potatoes-and-rutabaga-with-lemon-recipe2.html?oc=linkback

Mashed potatoes are awesome, but instead of eating the same old recipe every year, want not try something with a little twist, like this mashed potatoes and Rutabaga with Lemon recipe.
