Marker dyed pillows: this is a fun project that your kids could would love to help out with. Buy some fabric markers and color blots into a white throw pillows. Before the markers dry, put some alcohol on a rag and use it to spread the marker around in a tie dye formation.
 

Sofa makeover: instead of having to buy new furniture, buy a few bright colored throw pillows to put them around your sofa. The new pillows will make your couch feel like a few piece of furniture.
 

Wallpaper: apartments do not typically allow tenants to put up wallpaper, but what you can do instead is put wall paper on four different canvass and use them as an accent art piece.
