Safety isn’t at the top of most people’s list when the topic of Halloween comes up. But with children walking the streets after dark, safety should be on every parent’s mind. If you will take kids trick-or-treating this weekend or will be driving, here is a quick list of safety tips to keep in mind.
Use crosswalks
Look both ways before cross
Do not text and walk
Make eye contact with drivers before crossing
Always walk on sidewalks
Never cross in the middle of the street
Use reflective tape to make costumes more visible
Dress in costumes with bright colors if possible
When driving take extra care looking for kids
Drive slowly in residential areas
These are just a few tips to talk to your kids about and keep in mind on Saturday. Be sure to have fun and be safe. Happy Halloween.
